ARE YOU CONSTANTLY OVERWORKED? TOO BUSY?
DO YOU ALWAYS FEEL THE NEED TO GO?
I used to really pride myself on how busy I was. I would get up, exercise, go into the bank office earlier than anyone, work frantically, call clients in my breaks, work on projects on my lunch, work harder and later, work on my way home, exercise, do band practice or football, read, then sleep for a few hours…...phew (also insert fatherhood in between bits)
I come from a working class city where you live to work.
When I would have a day off or free time I was frantically looking for things to fill the gap.
I had lost who I was and I had become an automated work machine.
I was miserable, I was depressed but I felt it was ME.
I realised through learning that being busy was actually just another way of being DISORGANISED.
I hated being on my own with my own thoughts because I had never sat and explored what is in there.
I've since built a life and career where when I create space, I use that space to reflect and practice awareness. Now I breathe and have time to enjoy my loved ones, the calm and being with myself and thats HUGE.
